Diem led the team that created Compton’s Federal Empowerment Zone Round III plan and application—later repurposed to secure $60 million in development and health funding for the city. Advised the city council and community groups on economic growth, light-rail, and major infrastructure projects. As co-founder of a Los Angeles Unified School District charter school, gained operational and district-level experience in education. Partnered with Rep. Mervyn Dymally, former Congressional Black Caucus Chair, to connect local needs with federal and international opportunities.

Hungarian Wine Ambassador
As President of Tisza Wine Co., Diem became a leading U.S. importer of Hungarian wine, partnering with Hungary’s consulate and trade ministries to help revive the country’s 5,000-year winemaking heritage. He served as master sommelier for premier Hollywood events and curated acclaimed tastings at venues such as the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Raleigh Studios Budapest openings, and tributes honoring Andrew Vajna and Quentin Tarantino. Diem collaborated with Hungary’s foremost winemakers, highlighting the deep historical ties between Hungary and California—and the Hungarian pioneers who helped establish both Hollywood and Napa Valley.
Pan-African Leadership Development
Diem was the project manager and advisor to Dr. Mosé Tjitendero, former Speaker of Namibia’s National Assembly, in launching the Pan African Leadership Development Institute & Foundation (PALDIF), which trains emerging leaders across SADC nations and the African diaspora in technology-driven economic strategies.
Visionary Urban Planning – Viet Nam
Diem co-founded 3rd Rock Development, partnering with the Vietnam Ministry of Construction, six national planning universities, and Master Architect Eric Lloyd Wright to design the country’s first purpose-built sustainable city.

Having contributed to the Organic Design Challenge 2013: Sustainable Visions for the Future of Vietnam, Wright was a business partner and co-collaborator of Diem who helped shape sustainable, context-driven approaches to Vietnamese development.
